Gary Ashton

As the founder of The Ashton Real Estate Group of RE/MAX Advantage, Gary has led his Nashville-based team to over 10,000 homes sold, $5 billion in volume, and the #1 RE/MAX team ranking seven years in a row. The team averages 2,000 closings per year, ranks in the Top 10 RealTrends Mega Teams by volume and transactions, and is in the top 1% of agents in the Greater Nashville MLS.
Originally from Leeds, England, Gary’s background in music and advertising gave him a creative, client-focused foundation. After moving to Florida to support his family’s hospitality business, he relocated to Nashville and earned his real estate license in 2001. Early on, he used his marketing expertise to build one of the first online lead-gen systems in the area, which helped fuel rapid growth with Crye-Leike in Hendersonville.
A turning point came in 2004 when Gary secured an exclusive partnership with Nashville.com, generating a wave of buyer leads and prompting his move to RE/MAX Elite. From there, his focus on tech adoption, training, and transparency helped the team scale through both hot and challenging markets—including the 2008 downturn.
Gary’s team is now the official real estate partner of the Nashville Predators, a Realtor.com MVIP partner, and a Best of Zillow recipient with 1,495 five-star reviews on Zillow and 1,333+ Google reviews.
